"When I make jewelry my goal is to have fun and create something people will
enjoy so I tend to do the unusual by twisting ideas, adding bits of irony and humor,
and playing with cultural symbolism. For example, if I make a custom necklace with
a Tribal theme, I could use the predictable materials such as skulls, bones, stones,
leather, and feathers... but I will combine it with unexpected twenty-first century objects
like gears, sprockets, wire, tools, gas masks, and weapons; because our Tribal period
never goes away, it just evolves with us, and nothing displays our Tribal culture more
than our tools, weapons, and artifacts like jewelry."
